That being said I do plan on looking into a few of Ashlees other books.more I has really high hopes for this story and I just wasn't impressed.
Which also didnt quite connect with me as looking at their relationship it just felt like it was only about the contract. I just kept thinking this doesn't make sense, she's pissed at him, he hurt her.
The scenes were cringe at some point, especially the dream sequence. They didn't go into enough detail when Dex confronts Rhages about his mom. The story with her mom being depressed and abused and Dex helping her just fell flat. Dex was a great character and could have been so much better if this book was solely based off of him being a stalker. The insta love thing is a trope I know I don't love in books but this was on all 3 parties sides? It just didn't feel believable. There weren't many internal dialogs in her head where she was fighting her hatred for her job but needed the money. I didn't feel a struggle of her having to provide for her family. There were too many plot lines, and not enough details for each story. I see a ton of positive reviews and I cant understand how I could be the only one feeling like this.
